The meaning of Crash On: Filming in the rain.
WHAT DOES "CRASH ON" MEAN?
Crash On means making lemonade.
In the world of farming, weather can make or break your success on a given day.
The same can be true in the production world. We recently had to complete a project with an incredibly tight deadline of three weeks from concept to delivery.
Meanwhile, the building we were featuring for the project was still under massive renovation and wouldn't be finished until the day that the video was due to play in front of a massive room full of people.
Needless to say, we had no choice but to carry on with our call times for filming regardless of the circumstance. The beauty of this is that it ended up working out to our benefit for the emotional tonality of the piece. We simply changed the tone of the scene to accommodate for the late night downpour of rain.
We filmed in the rain and it absolutely added an element of realism that we could not have planned for. (Check it out below)
Crash On means moving forward despite the obstacles and being flexible despite our circumstances.
Do you ever find yourself in situations with less than desirable circumstances? How do you handle it?
